Freelance Journalist and Editor
Hello! I’m a journalist-for-hire currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
You can find my stories in The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Scalawag Magazine, the Washington Post, the Toronto Star, Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting and PRX, the Florida Times-Union, Esquire, the Columbia Journalism Review, Living On Earth, The Tyee, CBC Radio, Megaphone Magazine and more.
I love a good story — and that’s taken me from the Florida reefs to the sweat lodges of British Columbia. I’ve teetered on the edges of waste pits with environmental activists, met with dissidents in China, covered France’s elections from the wings of a puppet theater and talked politics with one of Haiti’s greatest dancers.
My passion is narrative nonfiction, and I’m drawn to stories that explore identity and reveal the unexpected but true — the threads of passion, resistance and idealism that unite us all.
