Salsa on a mission

The Jacksonville area, with its multiple military bases, has the third largest Armed Forces presence in the United States.

Two area veterans are dipping into their own savings to launch a company that they hope will help other military servicemen. For the Troops, Inc., whips up salsa and sauces to sell, and all its profits go to veterans’ charities.

But it hasn’t been easy for the two founders, who face mass-market competition from the likes of food giant Frito-Lay. Read about their story here, in the Florida Times-Union newspaper.
